What is Virtual Demo Day?

Because of COVID-19 we will be moving Demo Day online. It will take place on Hopin, hopefully you enjoyed your experience and we ironed out any issues with the service over Dragons' Den.

This will be our still be our largest Demo Day yet and first online version of the event where we will be bringing the entire eco-system from across the North-West and London to hear you and your pitches.

Over the past six years, Accelerate ME has regularly brought cohorts of the top student startups from around Manchester. We hold our annual demo day to showcase your amazing businesses and help you meet top investors, partners and mentors - this year will be no different.

Demo Day can be considered an arbitrary date. There is no particular reason why it should be in March or September, but it is not an arbitrary moment in time. It is an opportunity to be leveraged for:

  1. Fundraising Purposes: creating a market, understanding the competition, and assessing interest from investors.
  2. Marketing: you can use your pitch video to show your vision, and attract potential new hires, investors and customers.
  3. Creating Credibility: showing off how much progress you have made in six short months is very powerful.

All of your startups will pitch in the same order as you did on Dragons' Den, after the pitch you'll have a brief Q&A and then you will have the opportunity to watch all other pitches and finally head over to the Expo Zone to meet the audience.

Unfortunately there will be no catering or refreshments provided, so please ensure you are stocked up on snacks.
